MY STORY
I have spent more than three decades in the salon industry, and while hair has always been my craft, people have always been the real heart of my work. Behind every appointment, every colour service, every quiet moment in the chair, there are stories - about confidence, health, identity, ageing, reinvention. I have been privileged to witness those conversations unfold for years, and they have shaped not just how I work, but how I see women, business and what true confidence actually looks like.
My own turning point came in my early forties after more than twenty years living with debilitating endometriosis and adenomyosis. Having a hysterectomy at 42 changed my life physically, emotionally and professionally. I entered early menopause and suddenly found myself navigating uncertainty, exhaustion and an identity shift. It was confronting, and at times isolating, but it also gave me deep clarity. I realised how many women were carrying similar experiences without support, and how little space our industry made for conversations about health, boundaries and sustainable ways of working.
So instead of stepping away from the industry I love, I chose to redesign how I worked within it. I intentionally built something different with SJ & Co - Australia’s first 6am salon, no weekends, no walk-ins, and a focused offering centred on colour and styling, rather than trying to be everything to everyone. It was a quieter, more intentional model, built around boundaries, sustainability and professional value. And what it showed me was this: when you lead clearly and honour your needs, your business does not shrink - it thrives.
That experience now shapes everything I share.
Today I mentor salon owners and senior stylists who love their craft but know the way they are working is no longer sustainable. Through education, mentoring and my Beyond the Chair program, I help hair professionals redesign their businesses so they can earn well, lead confidently and stay in an industry they love - without burnout, without hustle culture, and without losing themselves along the way.
MY MISSION
I want to redefine what success
looks like in the salon industry.
Not bigger, not busier - but more intentional,
more sustainable and more human.
It’s my mission to bring clarity, compassion and sustainable leadership to our industry so salon owners and senior stylists can thrive professionally while still protecting their health, confidence and joy in the craft that first inspired them.
MY VALUES
Values are important to me. Ever changing as I have evolved and grown throughout my own personal journey but they have always been my guiding star in all I do. By developing yours, you too will have clarity in what means most to you and what your non-negotiables are.

I believe clarity creates calm.
When you understand what truly matters to you - in your work, your health, your leadership and your life - decisions become easier and business stops feeling overwhelming.
I believe leadership should feel sustainable, not exhausting.
You can build a respected, profitable salon without overworking yourself or sacrificing your wellbeing in the process.
I believe longevity matters.
This industry is built on passion, but passion alone is not enough. Protecting your energy, your body and your confidence allows you to keep doing what you love for the long term.
I believe salons are, first and foremost, human spaces.
People, trust and care sit at the centre of everything we do, and that deserves to be honoured in how businesses are run.
I believe in honest conversations.
Especially the ones our industry has historically avoided - around health, hormones, identity, boundaries and sustainable success.
I believe professional respect starts with self-respect.
When you value your time, your expertise and your needs, others naturally learn to do the same.
And above all, I believe kindness will always matter.
This industry runs on people, relationships and connection, and when we lead with compassion, everyone benefits.
CAN YOU GIVE ME A HELL YEAH?!
I am not here to tell you to scale faster, hire more or hustle harder.
I am here to help you redesign your business so it actually fits your life.
Because you are not just a stylist.
You are a leader.
And you deserve a business that supports you back.
Ready to leave behind burnout and build a more successful yet sustainable business?
